Journal Entry #7

Bessie, when she heard the narrative, sighed and said "Poor Miss Jane is to be pittied too". "yes," responded Abbot; "if she were a nice, pretty child, one might compassionate her forlorness; but one really cannot care for such a little toad as that." Page 28

- The fact the Jane isn't the prettiest child shouldn't have anything to do with the kind of care and affection she gets. Abbot treats her as less than a human being. When in reality Jane only acts out because ofthe poor treatment she recieves and she tired of it. I would be too. Abbot thinks that because she isn't as pretty as georgina that she should be locked away from society and treated like that, shes crazy.
