- Mrs. Reed being happy to be rid of Jane doesnt surprise me. the fact that she is willing to send her to school instead of to work does however. i wonder why Mrs. Reed is so irritated with Jane. i think it has more to do with Janes mother, Mrs. Reeds sister in-law, than anything else, cuz janes only 10 what could she possibly have done to Mrs. Reed other than live with her to have made her hate her so much. it just seems really immature of Mrs. Reed to hate a child for things that are out of her control. and the servants sure do alot of gossiping.
