- Jane doesnt sound to excited to live there. and it isnt like the staff has made her feel welcomed and at home at Gateshead. instead they tend to make her feel like she doesnt belong and that she isnt worth anything and she isnt good enough to live with them. personally i think family is family and if they're living with you because they need you then you should treat them like a guest. Jane is only 10 how else she supposed to be cared for? and where do the servants get the idea that they can tell Jane where she belongs? their just the hired help...
